“Soil TO Plate” (STOP) is an eTwinning and Erasmus+ KA2 project. This project involved teachers and pupils from 4 different schools and countries: Ecole élémentaire publique Victor Quintius Thouron (France); IV Osnovno uchilishte “Dimcho Debelyanov” (Bulgaria); Proto Dimotiko Sxoleio Melission (Greece) and Agrupamento de Escolas Dr. Francisco Sanches (Portugal).
This project aimed to provide students with a better understanding of the connection between man and nature through food. The teachers cooperated so that the students could: observe and understand the origin of food and its connection with the surrounding environment; act in an ecologically responsible manner; collaborate; develop key competencies. The priorities and themes of the project were: the environment and climate change; the energy and resources available; international relations and development cooperation; common values, civic engagement and active participation.
There were several activities carried out over 2 school years, which had a very positive impact, including:
– 4 mobilities;
– eBook about endangered species

Besides this, the students also developed project activities such as: learning about planting seeds and how vegetables, fruits and plants grow; how climate change affects agriculture; learn about all the living beings involved in the process of growing food; assess the needs (soil, water, sunlight) to create a vegetable garden; choose the appropriate place for the school garden; make an inventory of needs (tools, soil, straw, seeds); prepare the land for planting; start planting; organize the maintenance of crops in the school; harvest fruits and vegetables.
The objectives were largely achieved and we aim to continue developing similar projects.
